It seems that a new riot control tactic has been developed: the arresting of an entire crowd before they get the chance to do anything illegal. I am referring to the DC and National Park Service police incident, which occurred in during the World Bank- International Monetary Fund protests. In this case, some students were utilizing their right to free speech by protesting. As they massed the MPD
(Metropolitan Police Department) and National Park Service police surrounded the crowds, asked them to disburse or be arrested. Then, officers in riot gear surrounded them and arrested them. To boot, veteran reporters were allowed to leave, unharmed by the massive attack on freedom. I don’t care who you are, the MPD or the FBI, nobody has the right to arrest anyone without cause! This is flagrant abuse of our rights, and it must be stopped! When I get more time, I will post some more information.
