:: Our Pledge Under Attack :: |
|
Some judge has decided to outlaw our Pledge of Allegiance under the idea that it is not constitutional to state “one nation under God.” Well, that is asinine. Our nation was founded on the idea of a Supreme Being, and we happen to refer to a Supreme Being as God in this country. Some religions will call the Supreme Being something other than God, like Allah. No matter what it is, God is a reference to a Supreme Being, and that Supreme Being is why our country was founded, and is the basis of our natural rights philosophy that made our U. S. Constitution what it is! Saying God is not unconstitutional. Now, it is bad enough that they say that it is bad to have a pledge with God stated in it, but if one doesn’t wish to say God, they can say the pledge except for the phrase “under God” or they can even elect to not say the pledge at all. All that one must do is stand. This judge, whoever he of she is has made a grave mistake. This judge needs to remember that their job is to uphold the constitution, not try to make laws that they think are nice.
We have made the pledge part of many organizations, and one of these is our schools. I am sorry, but the fact in the matter is that our nation was founded and is based on the idea of a supreme being (hence natural rights), and because of this we as a nation put the phrase “under God” in our Pledge of Allegiance. If you don’t like that phrase, don’t say it! If you can’t stand the idea that our country is based on a natural rights philosophy which comes from a Supreme Being, which we call God, leave; all Americans have the right to leave the country if they choose. It is a perk of being an American. This is truly an outrage. If we as a nation continue to let this and other things which violate our constitution and American way of life, America’s end as a great nation will truly be soon and ugly. Morals, lets keep them. And a note from the editor: God is a Supreme Being, no matter from what different religion or even the name, is a being that believes in peace, love, and equality, regardless of a souls religion. This means that any atheists should take no offense; God sees you as an equal to the rest of us. |
