:: The Injustice of Retributions for Past Injustices :: |
|
Walter Fields, the Former NJ NAACP Political Director, is fighting in a group, for reparation to African-Americans who have suffered to an injustice, or one who is the ancestor of an African American who suffered from an injustice. I would like to know what is going on! Is this Civil Rights? I say NO! This is absurd! Since when does equality entitle a group of any origin to demand cash because someone who is dead performed an injustice to someone else? I hope never. This is not equality, this is tyranny! This “bill” is only accounting for the American government to pay the reparation. Huh, did I miss something? If my memory is correct, many African tribes sold many of the ancestors of the now African-Americans into slavery themselves. If it is reparation these, or any, people want, at least ask from all contributors. Even so, I think that the whole idea is insane! People need to learn how to forgive. If people could, we wouldn’t need reparation. If someone has been affected by an injustice, make it right, but if it happened to an ancestor, and it has since been corrected, how can you ask for more? Justice has been served for slavery. No mare slaves are in America, slavery is seen as unjust and immoral in America. I truly believe in equality, and I also believe that equality has not been achieved. We still have race and sex taken into account for things they shouldn’t be. I see no wrong in cultural pride, but I do in race and sex being limiting factors in things like jobs and scholarships. If we could only learn to live in peace, respect, tolerance, and equality, we wouldn’t have these problems, and I pray and hope that we can someday and save our nation and world.
